Terms & Conditions

Booking and/or attending a driving lesson confirms that the pupil agrees to these Terms and Conditions.

1. Licence Requirements

All pupils must hold a valid UK provisional or full driving licence and must present it to the instructor if requested. Pupils must inform the instructor immediately of any changes to their licence status, medical conditions, or driving entitlement that may affect their ability to drive.

2. Payments

All lessons must be paid for in advance unless otherwise agreed. Block bookings or lesson packages must be paid in full before lessons commence. Prices are subject to change; however, any prepaid lessons will be honoured at the agreed price within the validity period stated below.

3. Lesson Validity

All prepaid lessons, lesson packages, and block bookings must be used within 6 months of the purchase date. Any lessons not used within this time will expire and may be forfeited.

4. Inactive Pupils

If a pupil does not book or attend a lesson for a continuous period of 3 months, their account may be considered inactive. The instructor reserves the right to close inactive pupil accounts where there has been no contact or lesson activity during this period. It is the pupil’s responsibility to ensure lessons are booked and used within the validity period.

5. Refund Policy

Refunds will only be issued for unused lessons. All refund requests must be made within 6 months of the original purchase date. Refunds requested after this time may not be granted. Refunds will be issued at the standard lesson rate, not the discounted block booking rate. Refunds may be refused where lessons have been booked but repeatedly cancelled or where reasonable opportunities to take lessons have been provided.

6. Block Booking Refund Policy

Block booking discounts are provided on the basis that all lessons within the block are completed.

If a block booking is not completed for any reason:

Any lessons already taken will be recalculated at the standard pay-as-you-go rate

The remaining balance will then be refunded accordingly.

We reserve the right to apply an administrative fee of £20.00 to refunds where significant scheduling time has been allocated

7. Lesson Cancellations

A minimum of 48 hours’ notice must be given to cancel or rearrange a lesson. Lessons cancelled with less than 48 hours’ notice may be charged in full. Failure to attend a scheduled lesson will be treated as a late cancellation and charged in full.

8. Instructor Cancellations

In the event the instructor must cancel a lesson due to illness, vehicle issues, or unforeseen circumstances, the lesson will be rearranged at the earliest mutually convenient time.

9. Punctuality

If a pupil is late for a lesson, the lesson will still finish at the scheduled time and the full lesson fee remains payable. If the instructor is late, the lesson time will be extended where possible or the lost time will be rearranged.

10. Fitness to Drive

The instructor reserves the right to cancel or terminate a lesson if they believe the pupil is unfit to drive, including but not limited to:

Being under the influence of alcohol or drugs

Illness or injury affecting driving ability

Inappropriate footwear

Unsafe or dangerous behaviour

In these circumstances, the lesson fee may still be charged.

11. Behaviour

The instructor reserves the right to refuse or terminate tuition if a pupil behaves in a threatening, abusive, or inappropriate manner. In such circumstances, any remaining prepaid lessons may be forfeited.

12. Driving Test Use Of Vehicle

Use of the instructor’s vehicle for a driving test is at the sole discretion of the instructor. The instructor reserves the right to refuse the use of the vehicle if they believe the pupil has not reached test standard or it is unsafe to proceed.

13. Liability

The driving school cannot be held responsible for test cancellations, changes made by the DVLA, delays, or other circumstances outside of the instructor’s control.

14. Non Transferrable Lessons

Lessons and lesson packages are non-transferable and cannot be shared or sold to another pupil.

15. Outstanding Payments

All lessons must be paid for in advance, unless otherwise agreed. If a pupil has outstanding payment for previous lessons, the instructor reserves the right to suspend or refuse further lessons until the balance has been paid in full. Any lessons already booked may be cancelled or postponed by the instructor if payment has not been received prior to the scheduled lesson.
